This collection was released back in March online and I was able to grab all 12 bottles from Nail Polish Canada the minute I got wind that it was available for purchase! I waited for MONTHS for this collection to be released - no joke. I had seen swatches online and had them saved on my desktop to remind me that I NEEDED to have these in my collection LOL! As usual, I got perfect shipping from Nail Polish Canada and all my bottles arrived safely. I couldn't WAIT to swatch and wear at least one of the shades!
If you're unaware, there were 12 bottles and one could safely say, it was divided by the pinks and the blues with a green polish and a plummy polish thrown in for variety. I will go into detail and separate the polishes as such.
From left to right: Strap On Your Moonboots, Take a Trek, Sci-Fly By, Don't Be A Luna-Tic, OMG A UFO, Cosmic Dust
There are technically 5 blue polishes and the one green polish that seems so random to me. The blues definitely had a much stronger holo effect and that really excited me! However, the base colours were pretty close to each other. Take a look!
I wore already Strap On Your Moonboots and loved it. It was really gorgeous that I don't think is seen really in these nail swatches. I already have it posted up on my page here so you can see how beautiful the holo is in it. Take A Trek is similar in base colour as well but a touch lighter. Either way, these blue polishes are my favourite in the entire collection!
Pricing, wearability, dry time...
The pricing on this collection is higher than your average China Glaze polish. It is definitely something to consider when purchasing them but again the ingredients used to create the holographic effect is pricey and therefore is reflected in the price. I did consider this expensive but I was not going to miss out again after I missed out on the 2007 OMG Collection. It came out before I started collecting and it still bums me out that I don't have them in my collection. *sigh*
So that's my review on this Hologlam Collection...It wasn't as holographic as I'd hoped but it was still a nice addition to my collection. Definitely no regrets! I do suggest though that you don't have to buy the entire collection. As you can see from my swatches, there are some that are very similar to each other. My picks from this collection are: Astro-Hot, Get Outta My Space, and well...all the blues LOL! Thanks for reading! :)
